The market of cloud computing encompasses an ever-growing number of cloud providers offering a multitude of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solutions. The heterogeneity of these solutions hinders the proper exploitation of cloud computing since it prevents interoperability and promotes vendor lock-in, which increases the complexity of executing and managing multi-cloud applications (i.e., applications that can be deployed across multiple cloud infrastructures and platforms). Providers of multi-cloud applications seek to exploit the peculiarities of each cloud solution and to combine the delivery models of IaaS and PaaS in order to optimise performance, availability, and cost. In this paper, we show how the Cloud Modelling Framework leverages upon model-driven engineering to tame this complexity by providing: (i) a tool-supported domain-specific language for specifying the provisioning and deployment of multi-cloud applications, and (ii) a models@run-time environment for enacting the provisioning, deployment, and adaptation of these applications.

Open Transport Data (OTD) is a project, funded by the Norwegian Research Council, aimed to establish a virtual lab offering a (i) catalogue of datasets and (ii) tools to facilitate the publishing and use of open transport data (reference: During an OTD meeting, the MC-SUITE partner SINTEF presented the MC-Monitor solution for the data transformation, cleaning and mapping. OTD will investigate via SINTEF how a solution similar to MC-Monitor can be applied to their project.

Meanwhile, the collaboration of MC-SUITE and TWIN-CONTROL project ( is consolidated in a common session at the HSM2018 conference (San Sebastian-Spain 17-18 April 2018 and at the BIEMH (Bilbao-Spain 28 May-1 June 2018

ENACT is a project funded by the European Union under the H2020 Programme focusing on the Development, Operation, and Quality Assurance of Trustworthy Smart IoT Systems (reference: One of the sub-objective of ENACT is to support the orchestration and deployment of devices and services in the IoT, edge and cloud spaces in order to build smart IoT systems. This typically includes the ingestion of sensor data and their (pre-)processing, with the aim of extracting actionable knowledge: in the context of MC-Suite, such a tool could be relevant for the design and prototyping of the services that form MC-Monitor and MC-Analytics. The objective of this collaboration is to investigate how it could be automatically orchestrated and deployed the mechanisms for ingestion of the data coming from the Savvy system as well as the analytics scripts (e.g., R scripts).

CEDRAT will present “MICA300CM”, the innovative Active Vibration Control product developed in the frame of MC-SUITE project,  at the international conference ACTUATOR 2018 (Bremen-Germany 25-27 June 2018,, paper “Development of the Plain bearing & Flexure Bearing MICA300CM Actuator”).

MICA300CM is a new actuator model (in the family of Moving Iron Controllable Actuator), having improved configuration based on a cylindrical shape. This actuator is especially designed to achieve zero maintenance over several years of operation, with high efficiency, infinite resolution and a highly controllable performance. This actuator becomes the perfect candidate in proof mass configuration for active damping application on machining processes.
